National Institute of Epidemiology will emerge as a Centre of excellence in the field of epidemiology in the country. It would be an apex body on epidemiology and would concentrate on goal-oriented programmes of National relevance in relation to public health practice, operational research, health systems research, training and other emergent areas from time-to-time.
