To support the various field research activities, NIE has a basic laboratory equipped to undertake routine biochemical and microbiological investigations. It has basic infrastructure and facilities to carry out research activities pertaining to epidemiology of leprosy and HIV serology. This laboratory with its limited capacity for carrying out epidemiological investigations has the potential to serve as a public health laboratory.
