Master of Applied
Epidemiology (MAE)
NIE has been conducting the
two-year Field Epidemiology Training Programme
(FETP) leading to Master of Applied Epidemiology
(MAE) degree awarded by the Sree Chitra Tirunal
Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology
(SCTIMST), Trivandrum, since 2001. The MAE
degree is recognized by the Medical Council of
India (MCI) and included in the first schedule
of the MCI Act.
Master of Public
Health (MPH)
The Master of Public Health
(MPH) course at the ICMR School of Public Health,
National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) launched
in July 2008, is an initiative from Indian Council
of Medical Research and ICMR Partnership for
Schools of Public Health (IPSPH), in response to
the need for qualitative and quantitative change
in the practice of public health in India. This
initiative primarily aims to develop middle level
managers for public health. The programme is an
off-campus course of the Sree Chitra Tirunal
Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology
(SCTIMST), Trivandrum, and is recognized by
Medical Council of India (MCI) and included in the
first schedule of MCI
Act.
