Ten day WHO-SEARO regional Workshops on Surveillance Epidemic Preparedness and Response for medically qualified health personnel are being conducted. The main objectives of this workshop are

To establish and evaluate disease surveillance systems

Identify early signals of epidemics

Undertake epidemic investigations

Initiate corrective and preventive actions.

The expected outcome of this Workshop is to develop and strengthen rapid response teams and capacity at state levels. The workshop also focuses on strengthening public health communication skills. This programme is supported by WHO-SEARO.
